Rev Dr Victor Bamidele Akerele was the Lead Pastor of First Baptist Church, FESTAC Town, Lagos for over two decades before assuming duty as the Executive President of Lagos Central Baptist Conference (LCBC) on December 1, 2020. He studied Human Resources in Metropolitan School of Business and Management, UK. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria (FIPMAN). He is an ecumenist holding leadership positions in the ecumenical cycle. He served as Vice-Chairman of LCBC, Strategy Committee Chairman of LCBC, Consultant and Moderator of Unity Baptist Association, Chairman, pastors’ Fellowship of LCBC. He is a Youth-friendly leader.

He obtained a first degree in Microbiology with Virology from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State, Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from Lagos State University (LASU), Lagos State, Bachelor of Theology from Christian Theological Seminary (CTS), Ibadan, Oyo State, Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Masters of Arts (MA) in Christian Theology and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Christian Theology from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State and Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from the Nigeria Baptist Theological Seminary (NBTS), Ogbomoso, Oyo State. Victor Akerele is a members Nigerian Association of Biblical Studies and the Nigerian Association for Christian Studies.

He has written several books and published several articles in both local and international academic journals. He speaks at Conferences. He has passion for Spiritual Formation and Church Growth. He is married to Esther Modupe Akerele and they are blessed with children.
